If you like your holiday lively and exciting, you probably love indulging in unexpected activities and something daring! Well, the UK is a fantastic place for that, as you will have many opportunities to test your limits and face your fears. So here are the top 10 most adventurous things to do in the UK!
Table of Contents
1.Swimming with Seals
In Lundy Island, on the coast of Devon, England, a very popular pursuit is getting to know the unique wildlife firsthand. Literally! Here, you will get to snorkel with these magnificent sea giants, observe their behaviors and simply spend some time in close proximity. Despite the rules of not getting too close to the seals, they themselves like to snuggle you underwater!
2. Stargazing From a Bothy
Bordered by England to the East, the Irish Sea to the North and West, and the Bristol Channel to the South, in magnificent Wales sits many lovely huts often used as mountain refuge – bothies. Especially Elan Valley is an excellent place for staying in bothies, not just for stargazing, but also as a unique opportunity to name a starto someone special. Due to the remote geographical location, where the air is clean and less polluted than the city, the skies are very nicely visible and perfect to see the stars!
3. Drive the North East, 250
In north-east Scotland, specifically, the Scottish Highlands is the fun circular route of North East, 250. If you enjoy road trips and driving, overall, we suggest you rent a car and go for a drive on this trail! You will cross many uninhabited coastlines, many various whiskey distilleries, and of course, the scenic landscapes of Scotland.

4. Mountain Biking Downhill
If you like spending time outside and actively, we suggest you take a trip to South Wales, a mountain range of the Brecon Beacons, the central section of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and the highest mountain in South Wales. Here, you will have the best opportunities to enjoy the ride on mountain bikes, and if you like the excitement, you are in luck – due to the stone basis, the trail will be uneven and mostly downhill, which will only add to the experience!
5. White Water Rafting
Only 17 miles from Central London, in the lovely district of Hertfordshire, you can spend some time having water adventures! Travel here with a group of friends or family, and go into the experience together! Challenging trails will boost your adrenaline, and humorous situations will leave you smiling and laughing.
6. Wild Camping
Everyone enjoys camping! Though, probably most of the time you have some sort of facilities ready when you need them. Well, if you travel to Lough Neagh, the biggest freshwater lake in Northern Ireland and the biggest island in Ireland, you will get the pleasure of testing your survival skills with nothing but a toilet nearby. This spot is so liked and often chosen for camping because of the surroundings of the lake, an ancient monastic site, and impressive greenery all around.
7. Bird Feeding
That’s right! And we are not talking about swans or sparrows. Here, in the castle city of Gloucester, South West of England, you will get to feed such magnificent animals as Arctic terns, Mediterranean gulls, Purple herons, and so on! If you have always been into ornithology, or you simply enjoy the calm of the wildlife, definitely travel here to see some of the rarest birds ever!

8. Seeing the ‘Little Five’
Once again, a fantastic choice for nature lovers who enjoy meeting animals, seeing the ‘Little Five’ must end up on your itinerary! The ceremonial county of England in East Anglia, bordering Norfolk to the north, Suffolk is home to the five creatures every tourist should be lucky to get a glimpse at! Seek out the red deer, seals, otters, kingfishers, and Dartford warbler. Make a challenge for yourself to find them all!
9. Wanderlust Hiking
Now this will not be your usual hike. You will not cross any mountain tops and will not run into any wild creatures. However, in the village of Bradley, Lincolnshire, England, you will get to trek on an adventurous road called the Wanderlust Way. Stop at the oldest pubs in the area and Britain’s oldest ice cream makers! Also, you will most likely run into locals who will tell you ominous stories about the Black Lady of the Bradley Wood. Do you dare?
10. Theme Park
Last but not least, share the excitement of taking your holiday party to a theme park. Preferably the one at Greenwood forest park, near Caernarfon. Settled in the northwest corner of Wales, the theme park is a great way to spend time with your family and friends and go on rides and challenging treks, roller coasters, and water rides. The best aspect is that the park is exceptionally eco-friendly!
There you go! As you can see, there is plenty of adventurous things to do in the UK, so choose the ones closest to your heart and have glorious escapades. Good luck!
